Connect with Excellence at Rice University.
We’re pleased to offer a variety of event options to suit your organization’s recruitment and engagement strategy. All events are free to host for employers, and we can accommodate a virtual or in-person format depending on your needs.
Our Employer Engagement team is always available to consult with employers and develop a campus recruiting strategy tailored to their needs. Or, if you're ready to get started, join us on the Rice 12twenty platform and request your event.
All employer events must be posted and approved in 12twenty, Rice’s career management platform, in order to be officially scheduled and promoted through our office.
The CCD serves as the recruiting hub for all Rice undergraduates, non-MBA graduate students, and alumni. Rice's 12twenty site serves all Rice students, including MBAs. If you are interested in discussing your MBA recruiting strategy, please contact the Career Development Office in the Jones Graduate School of Business.
Host an Event
Recruiting Presentations
Recruiting presentations are a dynamic and informative event type in which you can present your organization, company culture, and upcoming roles directly to students. In addition to a company overview, you can supplement your presentation with a hands-on activity, panel, Q&A session, and/or networking to give a unique perspective about your company’s mission, values, and benefits to potential candidates.
Recruiting presentations may be hosted Mondays through Thursdays from 4:00-5:00 pm, 5:30-6:30 pm, or 7:00-8:00 pm.
Lunch & Learns
Lunch & Learns offer an intimate setting for employers to connect with a select group of students by combining the informative elements of a recruiting presentation with the personal engagement of a small group discussion. It provides a relaxed yet focused environment where students can learn about your company, ask questions, and network with the representatives in attendance.
Lunch & Learns may be hosted Mondays through Fridays from 12:15-1:00 pm.
Coffee Chats
Coffee chats allow for a relaxed, informal environment where employers can connect with and introduce themselves and their organizations, and engage with students in a more casual, conversational setting. Sessions are highly flexible and customizable to meet the schedules and goals of the employers, including:
- Meet one-on-one with students or in small group chats
- Total duration of event (typically between 2-4 hours overall)
- Length of meeting slots (10 minutes, 15 minutes, or 30 minutes)
- Number of “rooms,” or representatives in attendance
- Format preference (virtual or in-person)
- Require sign-ups through 12twenty and/or walk-ups welcome
Coffee chats may be hosted at any time during the business day (9:00 am-5:00 pm), Monday through Friday.
Campus Interviews
Interviewing on campus streamlines the interview process for full-time and internship opportunities, allowing you to meet quickly and efficiently with prospective candidates and enabling students to engage directly with potential employers without leaving the Rice campus. Before you request a Rice campus interview schedule in 12twenty, employers must determine which interview schedule type fits best with your goals:
- A pre-select schedule must be run through 12twenty and has distinct, structured periods for applications, employer reviews, and interview scheduling. The schedule must have a job or internship posting linked to it in 12twenty, and all three periods cannot overlap. As such, this schedule type will not work for any opportunity that has a flexible or rolling hiring timeline.
- A room-only schedule allows for space to be reserved for an employer to host their campus interviews with the understanding that the employer will manage the interview scheduling process outside of 12twenty. The employer is also responsible for all student communications confirming candidate selection, interview time, and location.
Interviews may be scheduled at any time during the business day (9:00 am-5:00 pm), Monday through Friday.
