Request your interview schedule
The Center for Career Development (CCD) uses Handshake to assist you in managing your on-campus interview schedule.
Interviews are held Monday - Friday, 8:30 a.m. - 5:00 p.m. and will be hosted virtually in the fall semester. There are no fees for interviewing.
Click the ‘Request an Interview’ button from your home screen in Handshake, choose Rice University, and complete the steps to request your preferred date and rooms needed. Interview and room requests need to be approved by the Career Center. You will receive notice once the interview date has been confirmed. Any changes to the interview schedule must be communicated to the CCD before students begin signing up for their interview times.
On-Campus Recruiting (OCR) Models
When creating your interview schedule request in Handshake, you can choose from the following OCR Models:
Specify both an application period and a signup period. From the students who have applied, you will select and "invite" students to sign up for an interview on your schedule. You can select primary and alternate student candidates after the application period. Primaries are allowed to sign up before alternates based on dates you select.
Choosing this type simply reserves a room. You advertise your opportunity outside of the system and contact students directly to schedule interviews. Please note that students cannot view positions attached to room only positions.
Students who precisely match your criteria schedule their interviews online on a first-come, first-served basis. The Open schedule works well if you are setting up a schedule on short notice, don’t have time to review resumes and make selections, or are willing to interview anyone who meets your criteria.
