Interview Rice Students

On-campus recruiting (OCR) for Spring 2017 runs January 17 through April 14. If you need to interview prior to the OCR session, please contact us and we will do our best to accommodate you. Interviews are held Monday - Friday, 8:30 a.m. - 5:00 p.m. Interviews take place in the five interview rooms at the Huff House. We're also pleased to offer use of the Fondren Library study rooms for overflow during peak times. If your needs are such that you require additional rooms, we will make extra efforts to accommodate your requests elsewhere on campus. We cannot, however, guarantee alternate spaces on a particular date outside of this building. There are no fees for interviewing.

The Center for Career Development (CCD) uses RICElink: Powered by Handshake to assist you in managing your on-campus interview schedule.

Interviews are held Monday - Friday, 8:30 a.m. - 5:00 p.m. in the interview rooms at the Huff House. We're also pleased to offer use of the Fondren Library study rooms for overflow during peak times. There are no fees for interviewing.

Click the ‘Request an Interview’ button from your home screen in Handshake, choose Rice University, and complete the steps to request your preferred date and rooms needed. Interview and room requests need to be approved by the Career Center. You will receive notice once the interview date has been confirmed. Any changes to the interview schedule need to be communicated to us before students begin signing up for their interview time.

When creating your schedule request in RICElink, you can choose from the following OCR Models:
From the students who have applied, you will select and "invite" students to sign up for an interview on your schedule.

Specify both an application period and a signup period. Primary and alternate student choices are selected after the application period. Primaries are allowed to sign up before alternates.

 Pre-Select Continuous

Specify an application period in which students that pass both the specified qualifications as well as are manually approved are allowed to take slots.

Room Only

Choosing this type simply reserves a room. You advertise your opportunity outside of the system and contact students directly to schedule interviews. Please note that positions should not be attached to room reservations, as students cannot view them.

Students who precisely match your criteria schedule their interviews online on a first-come, first-served basis. The Open schedule works well if you are setting up a schedule on short notice, don’t have time to review resumes and make selections, or are willing to interview anyone who meets your criteria.

We are happy to help you market the positions for which you're interviewing to Rice students. You may email us a flyer and/or two to three sentence description about your opportunity that we can post on our social media sites. A two to three sentence description can also be included in our weekly newsletter to students and faculty. You might also consider advertising in the student newspaper, The Rice Thresher.
