Counseling Policies 

Because we value your time and ours,  please familiarize yourself with our policies regarding appointments:

  • If you need to miss a scheduled appointment, you can cancel your appointment via RICElink: Powered by Handshake if it’s more than 24 hours before the appointment.  If less than 24 hours, contact the CCD office at (713) 348-4055 or e-mail the advisor with an explanation. If you do not remember the advisor's name or email address, send your message to ccd@rice.edu and we will forward it to the appropriate person. 
  • If you are a no-show or cancel two consecutive appointments, approval of subsequent appointments will be at the discretion of the CCD staff.
  • While the professional staff may consult with one another for the purpose of providing the best possible service, we will not consult with nor send copies of files/test reports to anyone without your written permission.
  • Payment for assessment fees is due at the time of the Assessment Interpretation Follow-Up appointment.  Payment can be made by cash, credit/debit, or tuition account form. 
  • Currently enrolled undergraduates, graduate students, post-doctoral fellows, and alumni who have graduated within the past three years have access to the CCD at no charge, excluding general assessment fees when applicable.
