Career Counseling Services 

Career counseling services at the Center for Career Development (CCD) cover a wide range of needs, from career change to persuasive interviewing skills to resume and cover letter assistance. Our counselors are Licensed Professional Counselors (LPC) in the state of Texas. Appointments may be conducted in person, via phone, or over Skype. 

All appointments are scheduled through our online system, RICElink. You may log in to RICElink at the portal on the left side of this page using your Net ID and password.  If you were not assigned a Net ID while at Rice, or have difficulty logging in to RICElink, please contact Katy Portell, Recruiting Coordinator & Alumni Liaison, at Katy.Portell@rice.edu. 

Alumni Within Three Years of Graduation 

We provide complimentary counseling appointments (no fees) for alumni who have graduated within the past three years.  Appointments can be scheduled in RICElink (please see above for login instructions).

The CCD also offers personality and career assessments that may help you learn more about yourself and assess fit with potential careers. Your counselor will discuss these assessments during your appointment. If you decide to complete an assessment, the following fees apply:
Myers-Briggs Type Indicator Step I - $25
Strong Interest Inventory - $25

Please note our procedure for administrating assessments. Counselors will conduct one initial session, then give you instructions for completing the assessment(s) online. Then, each assessment requires one interpretation session.

Alumni Over Three Years of Graduation 

We provide one complimentary counseling appointment to alumni who have graduated over three years ago. Additional appointments may be scheduled at $85.00 each. Due to staffing and time constraints, all appointments for these alumni are conducted during the summer break.

The CCD offers personality and career assessments that may help you learn more about yourself and assess fit with potential careers. Your counselor will discuss these assessments during your appointment. If you decide to complete an assessment, the following fees apply:
Myers-Briggs Type Indicator Step I - $30
Strong Interest Inventory - $30
