Your Best Fit: Discovering Your Career Options
This course, usually taught each spring through the
Glasscock School of Continuing Studies, is designed for those interested in career
change or learning how to manage their current career.
Successful employees,
managers and leaders are most effective in an environment suitable to their own
individual preferences and values, but many people have difficulty defining
these preferences. Participants in this course will take three assessments - Strong Interest Inventory, MBTI, and FIRO-B - to help discover factors that contribute to
individual success in the workplace – factors such as motivators and values,
preferences and individual work styles and fit within the corporate culture.
Jackie Hing, from Rice University’s Center for Career Development, will discuss
the assessments in each class meeting to help participants understand the
results and discover their most effective work environment.
